The emerging generation

Jubilee loves children and young people and attracts a large number of families. We value children and young people as a key part of our church. We provide groups, activities and events especially for them and want them to get caught up in a vision for God that will give them direction and purpose in life.  2000 years ago Jesus said ‘Let the little children come to me” and we believe He continues to say it today!

The vision for the Children’s Ministry is first and foremost for it to be a place where the children want to be! The children must experience the extraordinary, extravagant love of God and they must have bags of fun.

The time the children spend in children’s work should be both relevant for their lives now and be solid, foundational preparation for their futures. It should help them to be prepared to make a natural transition into adult church.

It must be a place where, in community with others, they feel safe and valued and can discover and celebrate who God has made them. Their gifts and talents must be encouraged and opportunities given for them to grow and to serve in the Kingdom of God.

Through worship, prayer and bible teaching they must enjoy the awesome presence of God and ‘taste and see’ that He is good, developing an appetite for more!

  • To have fun
  • To learn to love the Bible
  • To be individually treasured
  • To meet with the living God
  • To be safe

Parents are primarily responsible for their children’s spiritual growth and at Jubilee we want our children’s ministry to be an excellent support for, and close partnership with, parents. As someone once said ‘it is better to build strong children than repair broken men’ and at Jubilee we want the children’s ministry to be a place where ‘building’ and ‘growing’ takes place.
